The 11 o'clock hour...

I once considered myself a fan of the twilight hour. A comfort among the night owls and those that dwell in the dark. Now that frame of time has brought something new to my life. Something darker than a moonless sky. Like a floodgate forced open above my head I am consumed with the boredom and loneliness of this fateful hour. Lost without a cause, I've grown to hate this hour. Why must our wonderful days slip away? Why must the one I love be taken away every single day at the 11 o'clock hour?

So my final conclusion thus far with my 1st novel is that the word count is too long. Still frustrating but I can cut it down and hope for a response. If not then under the bed it goes and I will work on something else. When it can be counted as experience can it all be considered a waste of time?

I don't think so...

So this blog is suppose to be about my experiences in writting, so I'll address one that I've not really covered. Disappointment. It's true, the whole experience has been a disappointment thus far. The only real enjoyment is getting to sit down and write, write, and write some more. When the ideas flow faster then I can type there is a certain bliss. Sending out queries and receiving rejections is all part of it but it leads to more disappointment. One day I may get lucky, I also might buy a winning lottery ticket. Today however I write for the enjoyment.

Looking for a few readers...

I am wondering if anyone is interested in doing some reading? What I am looking for is a small group of people that like to read. Basically what will happen is when I've finished a story you'll be one of the first to see it. I'm seeking feedback on the story and actually want to know how you honestly feel about it. Love it or hate it, I need people who can give me an honest opinion and not hold back because they know me or worked with me in the past. I need Critique and if anyone is interested I am anxious to hear what you've got to say. The stories are in MS word format, but I can provide a link for those who don't have that program. I don't necessarily need people to edit my story but give a simple opinion. So if you are a heavy reader or even read a book once in a long time and feel like checking out something new, Please let me know.

Typically I write young adult fantasy fiction (similar to Chronicles of Narnia I'd like to think) and also I've written a suspense shortstory. Starting out will be totally focusing on the short stories before delving into a novel. There are no time periods or limits. I realize everyone has jobs and cannot dedicate hours upon hours to reading but if you can help I'd certainly appreciate it.

Another rejection form email arrived today, but that doesn't matter. Have been tossing around the idea of a title change for a few days now. With a new email address and novel title who knows what could happen. If all they see is my current best query statement and title of my novel, I'm going to take a chance and hope they're not liking the title for once. We shall see...

My thriller short story has been taking shape and coming along nicely. Hope to have a 1st draft finished by the end of April.
